Safe Storage of Medications

Safely Storing Medications

Being safe as you store your prescription medications is not as simple as opening your medicine cabinet.  You should:
  • Store medications in secure locations:
    • Lock-boxes
    • Safes made for medications, or
    • Other spaces or containers that can be locked
  • Be aware of how it is to access your medications - especially when there are children in the home. Avoid these easy-to-access spots:
    • Drawers
    • Nightstands, or
    • Kitchen counters or cabinets
